We are a very open club with about 350 swimming and water polo members aged from 4 to 70+

Demand for places is high and parents are advised to apply early. You will then be contacted on a first come first served basis as soon as a place becomes available.

Entrance Criteria

The club's minimum entrance criteria are that swimmers should:

• be able to swim 1 width on front and back with a recognised stroke with correct technique
  
• have an interest in progressing towards competitive swimming.

If you are interested in joining the club, you are invited to attend a free water trial.

Trials are held regularly and you are asked to contact the club directly on sc.swimmingacademy@gmail.com to arrange a suitable time. These are normally held on a Wednesday evening at Cheam Leisure Centre, between 7:00 and 7:30 or at Westcroft Leisure on a Monday evening between 6:30 and 7:00.

Please come along with swimming trunks/goggles and a towel and we will assess the swimmer's ability. During the trial, swimmers will be asked to swim some of the following strokes:

• Front crawl
  
• Backstroke
  
• Breaststroke
  
• Butterfly (basic only)

Accepted swimmers will then be placed in the appropriate training group for their ability and development.

Applicants are then required to return a completed application form to the club. Once accepted, membership and training fees will become due. These fees will depend on the squad and number of swims per week selected.
